Store Fora Sunglasses Mouzinho

Located beside the Mouzinho da Silveira Monumental Fountain, in the city of Porto, the new Fora Sunglasses shop resulted from the detailed design of a display unit, a service counter, a showcase and a vertical staircase leading to the shop’s storage area on the first floor.
Inspired by the granite that shapes the city of Porto, the shop is materialized through the use of a cement‑and‑wood composite material known as Viroc which, together with the reinforced screed applied to the floor, creates a harmony of grey tones that allows certain architectural elements to stand out through the use of white.
The display unit emerges from two scythe‑shaped elements that rise in a staggered composition in one corner of the shop, as if performing a dance. These Viroc elements house drawers for storing sunglasses and support the white‑lacquered wooden display shelves. The shelves unify the two elements and subtly heighten the perception of movement characteristic of a dance.
The service counter is defined by its lightness, with a delicate design and a minimal volumetric presence. It fulfils its functions with the support of a mobile drawer unit on castors, while its sense of lightness is reinforced by the use of Viroc, visually blending with the reinforced screed of the floor.
The showcase responds to two functional needs: divided into two modules, it provides drawer storage in its lower section and, in the upper section, an illuminated acrylic box for communicating product information.
The staircase linking the shop to the storage area is made of white‑lacquered iron, adopting a circular form that reinforces the theme introduced by the display unit — that of an architecture in motion.
